Easter 2011

"In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?" Luke 24:5

We had a very busy Easter weekend. Luke & Brady went out in the boat with Grammy and Papa on Friday, then Saturday morning we picked them up for our neighborhood egg hunt sponsored by our church.

The boys went early with us to help set up for the egg hunt. They did a great job hiding eggs as you can see ;)

getting ready for the marshmallow launch!

Lots of eggs to be found!

Our neighbors who came out to hunt with us.

Then we played some silly games. Brady really liked the elephant game the most.

EGG DYEING

It is a tradition in our family that goes back all the way to when I was a kid... No matter how old I get it is still fun!

Our sweet neighbor "Ms. B" came over to help us! I want to do a whole other post about her and how special she is to us...that will come soon.

This is Owen's year to just watch and learn. Next year he will be in full swing!

Brady is still learning how to be gentle with his eggs ;)

Easter Morning

Fun Easter Baskets!

The boys with Saw & Steph

-All in all we had a great Easter. Brady had a minor bump in the road Saturday when we discovered he had an abscess which had to be lanced Saturday night. He started feeling a little better and we are hoping for a full recovery very soon.

Owen's First Swim!

Today we decided to pull out the kiddie pool and go for a little "swim". This was Owen's first experience in a pool. Unfortunately, the water was really cold and his big brothers like to take any situation and see how they could make into a dangerous one- so it wasn't all that exciting for Owen.

I took Owen out of the water shortly after he got in and he was much happier! The boys continued to try to make the most of this tiny pool by running, jumping, then sliding through the water. Thankfully we made it through the day with no broken bones ;)

Crazy boys!

Owen loved to just sit and watch the madness from the outside...much more safe out here!

Bball!

Lukey!

Field of Blue

In my opinion, you can't be a true Texan unless you get a yearly picture in a bluebonnet field! Just kidding! BUT, I do try to have my kids pictures in these beautiful blue flowes every year.
This year, my friend Katie Little found a new bluebonnet patch and invited us to come along. She offered to snap a few pics of the kids and I was one happy mom!

I liked this one, even though Owen wasn't looking up.

You may or may not remember this photo from Easter 2009...Owen is finally able to fit in Brady's outfit so I did a quick little photo shoot with him this afternoon.
Luke was 2 & Brady was 7 months in the above picture.

Here is Owen at 7 months

I see some similarities...
