How Could I Forget???

this sweet little boy's picture in his Father's Day shirt in my Father's Day post????
Oops!

Father's Day 2011

I was one of the lucky people that got to have two dads in my life. My parents got a divorce when I was three and my mom remarried when I was five. I don't have a dad and a stepdad though, I literally have two dads. I don't ever refer to my "stepdad" as such. He has been everything to me that a real dad is, so that "stepdad" stuff just doesn't fit him at all.

Friday night Caleb & I went to eat with my dad, my sister Taylor, and some other friends to celebrate Father's Day. We had a nice time together and I am really glad we got to go.

Then Saturday, we went to my Aunt Theresa & Uncle Mike's house for a fish fry and round two of Father's Day celebration. My cousins and grandparents were there too.

God also blessed me with an amazing husband who is such an awesome dad to the boys. I have said it before, but really...he's awesome! Why? He is such a hands on kind of dad. Every single day when he gets home, he comes in the door, changes his clothes, and him and all three boys wrestle on my bed (one of the reasons why I stopped making my bed every day). This happens EVERY SINGLE DAY. Not to mention all of the other cool stuff he does with them. They really don't come any better than him.

Caleb's first Father's Day with Owen :)
I made them match for the picture despite any opposition.

and there he is with all of the boys. Thank you Caleb for being such a wonderful father to our boys. You are a man after God's own heart.

After our Father's Day lunch with Caleb- Luke, Brady, and I left to go to Sea World. Caleb and Owen stayed home and went to dinner with Papi to celebrate Father's Day. Sadly, I don't have any pictures from their dinner :(

I can't end my Father's Day post without saying something about Papi though...he is Caleb's dad and a HUGE reason why Caleb is the kind of dad that he is. Thank you Papi for raising such a wonderful man for us to call Daddy in our house.

Vacation Bible School

One of our favorite parts of summer is VBS! The kids have so much fun and learn so much about the Bible in a fun, exciting way that they can understand. Shadycrest Baptist Church which is right around the corner (also where the boys attend Mother's Day Out) always has a really cool VBS, so we are always sure to go. The theme for VBS this year was "Big Apple Adventure"

For the first time, Brady was old enough to go!!! Above is a picture of him and Abi on the second night.

Kayla, Madi, Luke, & Alex all got to be in the same class. Scarlett was there too, but only on the first night due to a scheduling conflict.

For some reason I was not able to get any cute pics of my boys smiling :(

Luke's class made this cool mural.

Sweet little handprints.

Luke, Alex, Madi, & Abi on the last night with their balloons!

What a fun week!

Summer Learning Goals

I think we pretty much have the fun part of summer down pat, but we can't let all of our knowledge go to waste amongst all of that fun ;)

Here are some attainable learning goals I have set for Luke & Brady this summer. In my mind, if we make a list and write it down we are more likely to actually DO it. So her goes...

Luke:
know all of the letters of the alphabet & their sound (he knows most, but we need him to know ALL)
learn the Kindergarten sight words
a- at- an- and- am- are- can- do- for- go- has- have- he- here- in- I- is- it- like- look- me- my- no- play- said- see- she- so- the- to- up- we

Brady:
master all shapes & colors
work on cutting with scissors

A Day at the Wave Pool

Today was our sweet friend Chloe's 6th birthday! Her mom, Katie, had taken off work to spend the day with her, so we got a group together to go to the wave pool. Per the birthday girl's request, we stopped at McDonalds first for some lunch and cupcakes though ;)

Chloe is the sweet little smiling girl in the green shirt.

Brady throws all table manners out the window when dealing with a chocolate cupcake apparently...

Then- time for some waves!

Luke loves the water & the waves, so the wave pool is perfect for him!

So...I guess Brady has a new rule. Every time I take a picture of him- he has to take one of me first. Which, I must say his photography skills are improving with all that practice.

A pic of me...
and a pic of him...

Fair is fair ;)

taking a much needed snow cone break after all of that time in the waves.

One last mom picture and we were headed back home.

One more thing to check off our Summer Fun List!

**p.s. some adventures we choose to let Owen stay home for. his time will come**

Brady Allen= Austin Bound

Friday night Brady headed out for his first out of town trip without us. He went with Yaya, Saw & Steph to Aunt Sheryl's 50th birthday celebration in Austin. He was REALLY excited for this trip because it seems like lately Bubba has been getting to do a lot of "big boy" things lately that Bball has been left out of, so this was just what he needed ;)

All packed up and ready to go. He brought some movies for the car ride, some toys, snacks, and mommy's camera so I could see how much fun he had.

Brady & the birthday girl.

Swimming with Uncle Saw.

Chillin' with Mamaw.

My new favorite picture of Brady & Papaw.

and Brady & Steph

As I mentioned earlier, I sent my camera for Brady to take some pictures while he was there. Among the MANY that he took, these were a few that made the blog cut.
check out Brady's amazing photography skills!

Pretty picture of the sky, an umbrella, & the roof.

Half of Papaw.

Uncle Johnny.

Saw & Steph. (someone else may have actually taken this picture, but I am just gonna give Brady credit)

Thank you Yaya for inviting Brady!
Funny story:

On the way to Austin, Yaya pulled a trailer that carried Papi's motorcycle. They were taking it to Austin so that Aunt Sheryl could sell it for them. Brady could not understand why they were doing this, so Yaya explained to him that Papi had an accident on his motorcycle so they were gonna sell it. After a brief pause for Brady to think that over- he replied "why did Papi pee pee on his motorcycle?" With all of the recent potty training going on in his world, when you say accident that's immediately what he thinks. Funny!

Brady also enjoyed some time with his cousins Mason, Cody, & Hayden. Here are him & Hayden doing what Brady loves best...mowing!

That night, Brady fell asleep in the car on the way home. When they got back to the house- he stayed asleep through an entire shower and redress into Pj's. He must have been completely played out from all of the fun!

What a great first trip away from home!

Noah's Ark Water Park

We've been able to cross a few things off our Summer Fun List so far and today we did another fun thing on our list. We went to the Noah's Ark Water Park with a group of our friends.

Mom & the boys. Owen stayed home with Aunt Lindsey today so the big boys could have Mommy's full attention ;)

Our group of friends!

The water park was great for people of all ages (including moms). Lifeguards were on duty and there was an area for smaller kids along with a huge pool with slides and diving boards.

Someone's having fun!

Abi & Brady loved sliding together out of the ark.

Brady was a little scared of this gator at first, but he finally realized that there was no harm in sitting on his back.

Us moms were all in agreement that we would definately be back this summer.
