Happy 2nd Birthday Owen!

My baby turned 2 today!

Owen is still kinda in the dark about what it means to have a birthday, but he has been walking around the house saying "Happy Birthday Owen!" which is really cute. We had his and Brady's party a few weeks back, but wanted to do a little something today to celebrate as well.

Since he loves trucks and tractors so much I thought it would be fun to take a tour around our city and other small cities around us to see if we could see anything cool along those lines. If possible, we could even get out and look up close. So, we grabbed some lunch to go & headed to Alvin which is a small town not far from us. Shortly into our drive Brady stared saying how bad his tummy hurt and continued about his tummy for the next 10 minutes until I decided this must be for real so we needed to get home.

We did see an old train, and a huge tractor, but will have to have our adventure another day soon. Brady came home and laid down for a little bit then started better just in time for Owen's nap. Oh well! It was still a fun day. 

Tonight Caleb and I will take the birthday boy to dinner.

Owen's First Day!

Owen started school one day after Luke & Brady. His first day was Tuesday, August 28th.

This year he is in MDO 2

We had been talking about how he is a big boy now and big boys don't cry at school. He seemed to be very excited to start because I think he picked up on some of the hype from the other two boys starting back.

Owen was a little nervous, but he didn't cry. He went straight to his teacher Mrs. Robyn. I didn't want to make a good situation turn bad, so I avoided taking any posed pictures. I did, however, come back by for a quick shot outside the door. That other little boy is Owen's friend Rob and his mom. Owen and Rob are buds, so I think that helps!

So far it seems like it's gonna be a great year!

Back to School 2012

It's been a great summer packed full of fun, but it's time to get back to school. Last Friday the boys at Meet & Greet at their schools so we went to check things out before the first day.

First stop- Shadycrest Elementary.

Luke was greeted by two friends from his class last year Noah & Austin. They were all happy to see familiar faces! 

This year, Luke has Mrs. Judge as his teacher which is who we were hoping for!!! Yay for good teachers!

The fact that Mrs. Judge has two pet frogs in her class makes her that much more cool :)

We went to Owen's class to meet Mrs. Robyn & Mrs. Sarah, but Owen wasn't really up for a picture. He was already getting a little nervous about being left :(

Brady has Mrs. Beheshti this year in PreK-4. She is really sweet and has an awesome classroom.

One last weekend of summer then it was time for the First Day of school!

 It was an exciting day around here to say the least. Owen will start his new class tomorrow.

Luke and Brady gave their teachers a vase with flowers for their first day gifts.

Luke got this letter from Mrs. Judge at Meet and Greet and couldn't wait to open it. So sweet!

Silly-bration

Since Brady & Owen's birthdays are just 10 days apart, we decided to give them a double birthday party this year. With a two year age gap between them, I felt a Silly-bration would be age appropriate for both of them. The plan was just to have all things silly at the party.

As always, we had their party at Yaya & Papi's house so we could swim. With August birthdays it's almost a sin not to... Above is a picture of the table.
